TThe business of travel tradeshows is all about doing business with like-minded people. For this to happen, the right connections needs occur at the right time and place.

The INDABA online diary and matchmaking system is a sophisticated business tool geared towards connecting the right exhibitors with the right buyers. The technologically advanced tool will once again be available to all registered exhibitors, buyers and delegates attending INDABA 2016.

So technologically proficient is this platform, users can track meetings, search hosted buyers’ activity and show buyers profile to ensure that one is indeed meeting the right person.

“The online diary and matchmaking programme is unrivalled in its business offering and enhances the overall experience of INDABA by allowing exhibitors and buyers to set up meetings in advance, optimising the number of exhibitor and buyer connections,” says Sthembiso Dlamini, Acting Chief Executive Office of South African Tourism.

“Let’s not forget that the success of INDABA lies in our promise to exhibitors that they will meet the right buyer at INDABA thus ensuring meaningful business opportunities are made and business interests are fulfilled,” explains Dlamini.

But, cautions Dlamini, exhibitors need to be quick on their feet when registrations open if they want to secure times with the buyers as diary times get filled up quickly.

INDABA 2015 saw the number of meetings conducted spike to 29 058, an increase of 69 percent from the previous year. Buyers and exhibitors praised the efficiency and accuracy of the online diary and matchmaking system for being such an effective business enabling tool.

So how does it work?

The online diary and matchmaking system is pretty simple to use: Users need to set up a profile that includes detailed information about their company and meeting requirements. This information is then used to intelligently match their profile to the right individuals. You can either select who you want to meet (send a meeting request and they will accept or decline a meeting with you.

Alternatively, you may email the INDABA 2016 Business Matchmaking Team who can assist with your scheduling on info@businessmatchmaking.co.za

A private online report is generated that enables the user to view companies matching their profile and use it as a basis to set up meetings.

The fact that exhibitors can do the research long before INDABA commences means they can carefully plan the best way to spend their time at INDABA 2016 and ensure that the right connections are made.

“There are certain elements that define a globally competitive tradeshow. An ability to effortlessly connect buyers and exhibitors in a seamless manner is one. The online diary and matchmaking system is a cut above the rest and is geared to literally making the right connections happen,” says Dlamini.

Registrations for the INDABA 2016 Online diary and matchmaking system open on Wednesday, 27 January 2016 to all approved exhibitors and buyers.

INDABA 2016 will take place from 7-9 May at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal. For more information visit www.indaba-southafrica.net
