TThe Globus Travel Awards gathers together the German Tourism industry to award and celebrate the best contributors in tourism.
Each year over 1200 travel agencies vote on who they think dominated a particular category. A separate jury is made up of 6 influential tourism leaders who are responsible for overseeing the entire project. On this night of excellence, South African Tourism was awarded the Silver Award in the category; “Best Service to Travel Agencies and Destination Marketing”.
The Silver Award was handed over by Simone Spohr(editor of the trade publication Touristiki Akutell). It was received by Theresa Bay-Múller and Stefan Eberle accompanied by a hearty round of applause from the audience.
This is a phenomenal vote of confidence, inspiration and excitement for South Africa as a destination and especially for SA Tourism as an organisation. It is an honour, considering that there are 185 National Tourism offices that competed for recognition.
Travel agencies commented particularly on the extensive training workshops that SA Tourism offer, availability, and accessibility of the office, the flexibility in support for joint consumer evenings, excellent marketing material and being a digital leader in Destination Marketing, offering the trade immense support.
We’d like to take this moment to congratulate the Sout African Tourism office for their dedication and hard work in making South Africa proud.
