Did you know, South Africa boasts a lot of whale-watching areas on its magnificent coastline? Whether it’s on land or on a boat cruise, we have some of the best spots to watch these gentle giants in their natural habitat. In KwaZulu-Natal, you can take part in whale watching on the coastline between July and November.
Or head down to the Eastern Cape’s Wild Coast town of Port St Johns for a sighting.
Top spots in the #WesternCape are the Garden Route towns, from Stilbaai through to Mossel Bay and George, to #Knysna and Plettenberg Bay, a little more West, you’ll find them in the #Overberg region, with #Hermanus providing the best view of these magnificent creatures. With the current water shortages in the Eastern, Northern and Western Cape, we ask that you be mindful of your water usage on your visit and practice #WaterWiseTourism no matter where you explore.
