AA natural extension to the Garden Route, and only 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth, this malaria-free “Big-5†private game reserve is set in 9000 hectares of pristine African wilderness incorporating the picturesque Kariega and Bushmans Rivers.  Kariega offers a combination of “Big-5†game viewing and an expansive variety of fauna, flora and birdlife in a landscape that spans across 5 different eco systems offering the most dramatic views and vistas.  The result is very powerful and truly unique to Kariega.
Apart from morning and evening game drives, guests can enjoy a variety of other activies which include safe hiking, river cruises, canoeing, mountain biking and visits to the nearby beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.  Main Lodge comprises of spacious and comfortable air-conditioned log chalets, all en-suite, with private viewing decks. The lodge and pool are expertly integrated with the surrounding bush. Ukhozi Lodge offers 10 spacious, air-conditioned luxurious suites with private plunge pools and spectacular African-style Lodge and outdoor pool.  River Lodge is a 5-star quality Lodge built on the banks of the Bushmans River and comprises 10 superbly appointed spacious air-conditioned thatched suites and outdoor heated pool. The lodge overhangs the river and enjoys spectacular views.  The Homestead is a private lodge with 5 spacious, en-suite bedrooms and is perfect for the sole use of a group or family of up to 10 persons.
