Meet South Africa

RRovos Rail, established in 1989, is a luxury South African train company that operates around South Africa and further afield. Its known for its pristine train carriages, excellent service and spectacular routes through the country.

Rovos Rail brings old-time charm and modern convenience together. The elegant, wood-panelled coaches are classics, brought lovingly back to life – exactly the kind of setting you’d expect to find an Agatha Christie character bustling about in.

One of the train company’s most popular routes runs across the Great Karoo and on to the mountain ranges and winelands of the Cape. The 1600km meander ends in Cape Town, South Africa’s Mother City, in the shadow of Table Mountain.

A highlight of the Rovos Rail experience is an observation car at the back of the train. Big windows and open-air balconies offer magnificent views and conversation points. If you want to see South Africa in style, Rovos Rail is an experience that will stay with you forever.
