We offer a diverse self catering holiday experience, situated in the middle of the famous Garden Route between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna, breathtaking views over thousands of acres of green pastures, gorges, magnificent mountains and down to the distant ocean, surrounded by Knysna's indigenous forest where the elephants once roamed.
A working Jersey dairy farm and vineyard. Produce from the vineyard, dairy and gardens is available for purchase during your stay, the perfect start to your self catering holiday. Packwood's Jerseylicious creamy milk fresh from the dairy, cheese, herbs, crisp garden salads and seasonal fruits and vegetables and to top it all, bubbly and award winning wine from the vineyard. Packwood is a sustainable farming enterprise producing milk from 100% pasture fed cattle, our dairy supplies milk to Lancewood cheese and is a founder member and proud shareholder in Amadlelo Agri Pty (Ltd). Amadlelo's objectives are to create a sustainable milk producing enterprise, contribute to alleviating poverty and unemployment, transforming the milk farming sector and develop black farming expertise by empowering community members with ownership of a modern commercial farming operation.
Packwood's boutique wines were developed by Peter and Vicky Gent in 2006 working with specialist viticulturists from Cape Town investigation into soil types and geographic studies were conducted. During harvest time we carefully select the best quality grapes, everything is hand picked and with the help of our dedicated winemaker in Stellenbosch, Teddy Hall, the wine is produced on the farm. Teddy is a multi award winning winemaker, a member of the prestigious Cape Wine Makers Guild and one of the first wine makers to produce wine from this new growing area for South Africa.
