IIn South Africa, fynbos therapy refers to a range of unique spa treatments using the indigenous fynbos shrubland that exists so abundantly in the extensive Cape Floral Kingdom. Fynbos vegetation is unique to the Cape Floral region, and many believe that this hardy vegetation has multiple healing properties.
Fynbos therapy in South Africa came into being when a few local health and wellness manufacturers recognised the value of fynbos and as a result formulated beauty products using fynbos as the essential ingredient. The Theravine range of products, for example, is used widely at many spas in South Africa.
Originating in Stellenbosch, this product range uses essential elements from the Cape winelands combined with natural fynbos and other herbal extracts. These products are fantastic anti-oxidants, are useful in detox therapies and are also an excellent antidote to stress and pollution.
South African fynbos therapy also include products from the well-known Moya Botanicals range. These original South African products offer up an indigenous and eco-friendly product using Fynbos essential oils and are available at a number of top spas and lodges in the country.
