TThe city of Cape Town needs no introduction to many travellers and there are many ways to experience the beauty of the city. These traditionally include taking the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain, boarding a ferry and travelling across the water to the world-renowned Robben Island or experiencing the Cape Floral Kingdom at Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. And whilst these experiences are “must-dos” when visiting the city, we’ve compiled a list of a few of our favourite experiences which helps unearth the city of Cape Town even more.

JJoin Cape Fusion for a Cape Eats walking tour – Pamela McOnie and her team thrive on showcasing Cape Town in the most authentic way – through its food! Those who have been to Cape Town would know that the city should be on every foodie’s bucket list. And whilst there are a wide variety of restaurants which cater for a wide range of tastes, the city’s best kept secrets are often hidden away and frequented only by locals. The Cape Eats tour by Cape Fusion unearths Cape Town by connecting visitors not only to what locals eat, but also to how locals live. Guests will engage with locals on this walking tour around the city as they savour up the best Cape Town flavours. The tour is a must-do for every visitor who would truly like to immerse themselves in the city!

SScootours arguably offer the most unique way to experience the beauty of Table Mountain and views over the city of Cape Town and its coastline. After your safety briefing, you’ll don your helmet and get on your Monster Mountain® Scooter as you make your way down the path towards the foot of the mountain. During the 1.5 to 2 hour Scootour you will get the opportunity to freewheel down two different off road tracks. The first track runs down the side of Signal Hill all the way into Bo-Kaap. You'll then be picked up by their vehicle in Bo Kaap at the end of your meander.

CCape Sidecar Adventures offer one of the most unique ways of experiencing the Mother City. They own a fleet of 40 motorbike sidecars, each carrying between one and three passengers. Travellers can choose between two hour, half day and full day tours covering a range of iconic attractions. All drivers are local and have a host of experiences to share, during the your trek through the Cape. Tours are tailored on client interests and the routes feature a few of Cape Town’s most iconic lookout points.

FFor those who enjoy street art, Juma Art Tours takes you to the area of Woodstock, located on outskirts of the city of Cape Town. The city of Cape Town has extended towards Woodstock after an extensive refurbishment in recent years. Woodstock was historically an English neighbourhood of textile factories, but was hit hard when the Chinese market boomed and overtook local business. Artists moved into the empty buildings and it started becoming trendy. More recently, the area has become gentrified. Woodstock now has one of the finest restaurants in the world, The Test Kitchen. Places like Rosetta Roastery and Honest Chocolate are popular, plus the food and fashion at Saturday’s Neighbourgoods Market in The Old Biscuit Mill. It’s very vibrant, very happening.
