HHave you ever considered going back to the bush? Is that where you left your heart and soul? Well, if so, we’ve got good news for you. It’s National Parks Week at the South African National Parks (SANParks), giving you the perfect opportunity to get in touch with your natural heritage… for free.

South African National Parks (SANParks) has officially opened its 12th annual SA National Parks Week at Golden Gate Highlands National Park, which runs from 18 to 22 September 2017, giving day-visiting South Africans free access to most of its 21 national parks.

Since September officially marks Tourism Month, what better time is there than now to embrace the South African bush. By being a tourist, you are doing tourism, and by doing tourism we can all help build a better future for all South Africans. In line with sustainable tourism, imagine the incredible possibilities of leaving a positive impact on places you visit, the community you interact with or positively contributing to the economy? Together, “We do Tourism Sustainably”.

This initiative is in partnership with Total SA and FNB and also falls in line with SANParks vision statement of ‘A sustainable National Park System Connecting Society'. SANParks Head of Communications, Janine Raftopoulos, on Friday said “the objective of the week is to cultivate a culture of pride in all South Africans in their relationship with the country's natural, cultural and historical heritage.

"When people start to take pride in national parks, then we believe that they will start to understand the importance of conservation," she said.

We seriously recommend you take SANParks up on this beautiful offer. Our national parks are our pride and joy and if you haven’t been in a while, or even at all, nothing beats the bush.
