Polokwane

TThe Mall of the North in Polokwane offers you the biggest and best choice of retail goods, services, shopping and entertainment in the entire Limpopo province. It's big – the Mall of the North boasts over 180 retail outlets and enough parking for 4500 cars.

It has become an icon of Limpopo's thriving capital city and offers shoppers the largest and most comprehensive selection of shops, restaurants and cinemas under one massive roof.

Did You Know?
TThe name Polokwane means “place of peace”.

TThe Mall of the North is Limpopo's biggest property development to date. Set on a huge 27-hectare site on the outskirts of the city, the mall offers easy access to public transport in a city that has grown rapidly as a result of being one of the host cities during the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The 75 000m2-shopping mall’s anchor tenants include several national supermarkets, various leading brand chain stores as well as a state-of-the-art entertainment complex.

TThe entertainment complex boasts six cinemas, all with digital surround sound, and three of the cinemas offer 3D, a first for the province. Together, the cinemas have seating capacity for 1000 people, adding an exciting new edge to entertainment options in Polokwane.

The Mall of the North also leads the way in environmentally-friendly and green-shopping mall design. Designed to blend in with the warm climate and wilderness areas for which Limpopo is famous, it has taken environmental issues into careful account. Reducing its carbon footprint is part of the centre's ethos.

TTaking advantage of the hot climate, the mall's architects have included solar power panels, indigenous landscaping, energy-efficient glass, natural ventilation systems and various energy-saving devices in the overall design of the building. Polokwane is known as the gateway to the Limpopo province, and the Mall of the North has become a major attraction in the province.

Find out more about the province and its tourism attractions and make your bookings at the Limpopo Tourism Information kiosk in the mall.
