SSlightly more than three hours’ drive from Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, and about two and a half hours from Durban, lies ATKV Drakensville, the breakaway paradise at the mountains. This resort, at the foothills of the majestic Drakensberg Amphitheatre, has a panoramic view of the Northern Drakensberg Mountain range, which is a World Heritage Site.
Here guests can enjoy the vastness of nature as well as the wide variety of outdoor activities offered by ATKV Drakensville. There are exceptional historical landmarks in the immediate vecinity and of course the most exquisite nature scenes imaginable.
Accommodation varies from self-catering flats to fully equipped eight-bed family houses. There are also caravan and camping facilities with five-star ablution blocks that will make everyone feel at home. The youth home with a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering is ideal for schools and social groups.
Do not miss activities such as the foefie slide, horse riding, abseiling, archery and paintball. Come and view the world-famous Amphitheatre from our wonderful, covered warm-water swimming pool and waterslide – a first in the mountains.
The Environmental Centre offers exciting development and team-building programmes for school, adventure and sport groups, as well as youth camps. ATKV Drakensville is also one of the accredited environmental centres for schools in South Africa.
