SSA Tourism is aware of the first case of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-) confirmed
in South Africa
SA Tourism is aware that a 38-year old male has tested positive for the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in KwaZulu-Natal following his return from Italy. The Department of Health, together with the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) have deployed a team to manage the case and implement the necessary steps to contain the situation.
The Minister of Health will issue an update following the parliamentary debate later today. SA Tourism is being kept abreast of developments by the inter-departmental task team established by the SA government and will provide updates as they become available.
